I was recently confounded by the speech of Zakir Naik (in the presence of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar) talking about the concept of God in the hindu scriptures. First in my defence I happened to be flicking through the channels (as you do) and came across this and did not deliberately sit and watch this devient/agent.

1. Agent Naik was talking about how Islam is synonymous with the Hindu scriptures, "infact much of the content in the hindu scriptures talks about Islam". Either this is very dangerous act or we need to congratulate him for his analysis, because either he is giving hinduism a legitamate stamp in the eyes of muslims, even though Allah (swt) has only made us aware through revelation in the quran of the Torat, Zaboor, Injeel & Quran, and we as muslims are not supposed to accept or negate anyother books for e.g It is justfied in us saying that we believe in the books of Allah or we believe in the prophets of Allah, and let the non-muslims make inference from this if they like.

2. Sri Sri Ravi Sankar said somehting like, then you must believe in and respect the hindu scriptures, but Agent Naik remained quite and never said anything back. Is he for real? Why did Agent Naik not say follow Islam and move away from Hinduism as Islam is the right way of life and Hinduism is a false religion?

Agent Naik, stop creating fitna and we pray that Allah opens your heart towards true Islam (Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamat).

It is the duty of Muslims to love and respect the Family of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) because the Holy Prophet has said in a hadith, “When I am loved, then my family members, whom I love should also be loved.” (Tirmidhi)

I'm sorry "Qadri Blessed", but everyone acknowledges the fact Dr. Zakir Naik is a muslim, and a very successful in his field. Trying to attack his methods and ingenious strategies of dawah will do nothing but illuminate the captive jealousy present within you.... Please there is no reason to demean someone that is helping your religion grow, and throw false accussations with no discrete-authentic evidence. Thankyou, I hope you take on this response in a positive manner. ps whos the agent? i don't understand

Qadri Blessed

You dont have to be sorry brother this is a personal opinion that may not be shared by other members of the forum...I ask you to look at the fatwas against him and make your own mind up (can you check with the following peope who made the fatwas against him, why did they do this, taken from another thread on sunnisonline http://www.sunnisonline.com/Forums/tabid/84/forumid/100/threadid/353/scope/posts/Default.aspx). Your right no one disagrees with the fact that he is muslim, but people do agree that he is misguided.

Im sitting here trying to work out why you think I would be jealous of Zakir Naik, come off it mate! Jealous of a person who praises the killer (Yazeed) of Imam Hussain (AS) I dont think so, rather your far off the mark. Tell me how you would view the person who praises the murderer of your brother or best friend...hmmm I dont hear you saying ingenious strategy now!!!

If you hold positive thoughts for him then thats your business, but I think being a muslim he needs to fix up, this is a personal opinion and may not be shared by others, but i have an inherited right to defend the family of Rasoolallah (saw), and Inshallah when the day arrives when we are raised and questioned Hazrat Bibi Fatimah (AS) will want justice for her beloved Hussain in the court of Allah. Then we will see what is made of the killer yazeed and his supporters and how their illuminated ingenious dawah strategies mattter or not!!!!

If he is so ingenious then why is he not spreading the love for ahle bait in his lectures, why is he not reading the hadiths that support the ahle bait? Why is he not bringing people to Islam through the love and teachings of the quran and hadith? Why has he not realised his mistake and retracted it???

Hadith from Tirmizi Shareef: Hazrat Ya'la bin Murrah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: "Husain is from me and I am from Husain. Allah loves him who loves Husain. Husain is a descendant out of my descendants".

If this English is not plain enough for you from the above hadith, then please take the liberty of popping down to Daraloum Qadri Jilaniya in Walthamstow every Thursday there is a class run by Syed Mazar Hussain Sha Saab after Isha namaz were you can be illuminated with the wealth of knowledge from the Quran and Hadith. Im not having a go at you brother so please dont take this personally, it just stikes a chord in me when we talk about the supporters of Yazeed because of my love for Imam Hussain (AS) & the ahle bait.

Please forgive me if I have offended you, it was never intended.

Jazakallah Khair

Salaam,

I have heard and read the fatwas against this doctor and the views by muftis are thoroughly justified. I was under the impression that this doctor followed the extreme ideologies of wahaabis. However, this site below shows the wahabis (salafis) refuting this man also. Please have a look at this and see some of the excerpts that the doctor has said.

http://salaf.com/2007/04/18/confirming-that-zakir-naik-and-people-of-his-ideology-are-misguided-deviants/

Daawah is a must for muslim as the following verses indicate

"By the Time.
Indeed! Man is in a loss.
Except those who have faith and do good works and encourage one another to Truth and encourage one another to patience"

[Al Qur'an 103:1-3]

Allaah (SWT) in these verses is saying that Man is in loss i.e. man will go to hell; except those who believe and do good works, ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER TO TRUTH and to patience. Hence, a person will not attain Paradise if he/she does not Invite people to Truth (i.e. Islam) according to Surah Al Asr. No wonder, Imam Sha'fi (R) said: "If the people were to ponder on this Surah, it would be sufficient for them (for their salvation).''

However, the emphasis in the surah is to encourage one another to TRUTH. Doctor is calling Yazeed lanati "radia allah taala". How can the murderer of the Prophet's grandson; the greatest revivalist of Islam; Hazrat Imam Hussain (as); be called a companion of the Prophet? This is the same grandson that played on the shoulders of the Prophet and sat on the lap of the Prophet. In fact the Prophet stopped the Friday sermon for his two grandson, an act which was never done previously and not permitted. If the doctor can give Yazeed khabees such an eminence title how is he telling the truth? Can anyone prove that this lanati Yazeed was a companion?

May Allah give us the opportunity to give Dawah and Islaah to non-muslims and muslims respectively.

Maximus

I am sorry "Qadri Blessed", I was not aware of Dr. Zakir Naik's remarks, about Yazeed. Also I have seen the clip of him on youtube when he utters these words about Yazeed, and clearly it is against aqeedah of Deobandis and other friqahs'. I also condemn this idea that Dr. Zakir has let out and I take back my comments on this topic. Thankyou.
