Which books can I refer to get an accurate account of the life Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani (RA). I want something which is reliable and accurate. Please do not refer me to websites as I dont trust alot of content on websites as it is quite difficult to verify at times. Some people have said he was born in Iran, others say he was Baghdadi, meaning he was from Iraq. Some have said he was born during the month of Ramadan and others have said differently.

Salaam Brother Ahmad,

If you want to have good, well informed read, I have a book in mind. It is the "Necklaces Of Gems" (Qalaid al Jawahir). It is an autobiography of Sultan al Awliya, Shaikh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani (ra). The original book is written by Shaikh Muhammad bin Yahya at-Tadifi (ra) and is transalated into English by Muhtar Holland. It list his life, teachings and miracles.
