Asalaam alaikum
Could you please explain to me what this verse from the Quran means, i do not completely understand it.
Surah 6, Verse 159
"Surely they who divided their religion into parts and became sects, you have no concern with them; their affair is only with Allah, then He will inform them of what they did."
I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts and views.

I am a sister. And i think its a beautiful ayat but what I don't understand is, is that is the verse saying that there shouldn't be sects in islam? I'm not sure that's why I wanted someone to explain it to me properly.

Sorry sister,,

yes your right there shouldnt be any sect. i cant help you inregards to this Ayat but i can tell you something related to sect.. : Our Beloved Holy Prophet [Peace be upon Him & His Family] has told us that the Muslim Ummah will split into 73 sects, which of 72 would be mis-guided and destined for Hell Fire and one would the correct ones, who have the same belief as the early Muslims & this would be His Jamaat.

The Prophet [Peace be upon Him & His Family] has warned us of the consequences of deviating from the true message of ALLAH [Glorified & Exalted] also He has told us, how many different Muslim groups there would be by the end of time(Judgement Day) with His Knowlege of The Unseen.
