If anyone can understand Urdu then this is a must-watch clip by Hazrat Mufakkir-e-Islam:

If the Holy Prophet passed away on 12th Rabi' al-Awwal, why do you celebrate 'Id Milad an-Nabi?

SubhanAllah!!!!

It is the duty of Muslims to love and respect the Family of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) because the Holy Prophet has said in a hadith, “When I am loved, then my family members, whom I love should also be loved.” (Tirmidhi)

Salam all.. Thankyou for your evidences supporting Milad Un Nabi SAW.. Which No one on this site can prove wrong.. But I wanted to know, how is Milad Un Nabi SAW a Bidda Hasna? when Hazoor Paak SAW explained, why He kept a Fast every Monday.. which was due to the day he was Born.

Appreciatation, smiling, being happy are all ways of celebrating, which the Phrophet SAW did himself..

Salaam,

Brother Logic,

Welcome to the forum. Mawlid un Nabawi (saaw) is not Bida Hasana itself. The essence of the celebration is evident from Sahih al-bukhari. What may be regarded as a Bida Hasana however is the manner in which the blessed day is celebrated. At the times of the messenger of Allah (saaw). the economic situation was not good for the newly born muslim community, there fore to celebrate the way we do now might not have been regarded as feasible. As the Muslims became stronger economically, the celebration began to take on a more extravagant position in the way it celebrated.

The above is also true for many other acts of worship. For example the early muslims wore minimal clothing when offering prayer. This was of course due to financial and economic reasons again. And as this became better, then people were able dress fully during prayer.

May The Peace Of Allah (swt) Be Upon Sayyiddina Muhammad His Family, His Companions and Those Who Follow Them Until The Day Of Judgement. Wasalaam Ghulam e Meeran Qadri Jilani
