Salam.

Every year I have noticed one thing about us muslims! and that is:

1. We eat and then throw away the empty cartons/boxes on the street
2. People just take LOTS of FREE cartons.. (are they planning on opening a shop?)
3. People seem to be throwing away cartons (filled with juice) (just because it is free doesnt mean you shouldnt respect food?)

In this march that happened sunday: I stumbled upon quite a few filled juice, rice/rice pudding thrown on the roads, empty boxes!! is this not a hypocrisy? On one hand we are talking/shouting "We love Prophet"! and on the other hand we are doing all these things which our Prophet was AGAINST!!! ??? I also think that when the march is finished and the people surrounding us see the mess.. they surely must be having bad thoughts and not good!! how can I expected to accept a message from someone who does something bad??

Also another thing of hypocrisy: how come we can chant we love prophet yet we do not even resemble our Prophet? no beards or "western styled beards", standing outside the hall when azan is being recited inside or there is a naat/lecture mehfil going on inside.. men wearing earrings..

just some observations!

Salaam,

I hope you had a joyful time at the procession.

Brother you did notice alot of mess but did you also notice the team of 15 cleaners who followed behind the march to pick up rubbish and throw it in to plastic bags? They were easily recognisable wearing yellow fluorescent jackets with "milad helper" printed on the back. Alhumdulillah they did a fantstic job. When they were delegated this duty last week at Darul Uloom Qadria Jilani in Walthamstow, the leader of the team specifically said, we will take it upon ourselves to clean the mess so that OBSERVERS do not have an opportunity to complain afterwards and give the deen a bad name.

With regards to wasting of food, this is surely a despicable act and should not be done regardless of whether the food is paid for or not. So that includes people like your goodself and me to not waste food at home either. Because i'm sure you would agree that the rule is not just for milad processions.

When people say they love the Messenger of Allah (saaw) it does n't mean they NEVER commit a wrongful act. Only Prophets (a.s) are free from committing sin. I am sure you would agree to this point.

When you say how can you be expected to accept a message from some body who does bad what is it you mean exactly? That you can only accept a message from someone who is PERFECT? Do you ever give dawah? Are you PERFECT?

As far as beards is concerned, we cannot BAR people from attending milad gatherings due to an absence of a beard. That would be absurd.

People taking loads and loads of food and drinks etc should not be a problem for you unless YOU paid for the food in the first place. The people who gave out the food didnt complain so why are you?

Wasalaam.

Salam brothers

Ghulam e Meeran you summed up my thoughts exactly, I think its important for people to be open and provide feedback to ensure activities or perception can be improved for the next time round.

Alhumdullilah from my perspective I have never been part of a milad procession this big that required so much organization and resulted in a smooth and effective procession. Others may not have seen it this way, but we welcome their thoughts and opinions on how we can further increase the successes of the milad un nabi procession under the guidance of Mufakir e Islam in 2011.

It is the duty of Muslims to love and respect the Family of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) because the Holy Prophet has said in a hadith, “When I am loved, then my family members, whom I love should also be loved.” (Tirmidhi)

Come on, did you honestly expect me to notice the cleaners at the back? I am at the front.. when you say behind the march then that indicates right at the back after the ladies too... and me being a gent wouldnt have known! but either way I didnt KNOW so that is a good idea! However why should we throw things at the floor and not keep them with us? there are plenty of bins on the way!

Yeah I agree with the point, but come on there are things one can avoid and there are things we cant! like we can avoid imitating westerners! the point is if i loved a girl and then not listened to her or kept her happy.. that wouldnt be love, it would be just WORDS! this is what I am trying to imply.

No I am not asking you to bar anyone either.. the point again is of love.. if you love someone you should try to keep them happy!

And you are sort of right and I am not complaining but why do we go on march? to show our love or to gather freebies?

Assalamu Alaikum to all... hope you are all well by the merch of Allah and His beloved {peace and blessings be upon him and his family}.

To be honest, I coudln't help but become slighlty agetated with what I have had to read... criticisms are best left for those who are in a better place than all. I think my respected brother/member shez1983 should refrain from trying to destroy the morale of those who organised and participated {in a volunteerins capacity} as this is not really in accordance with the shari'ah anyway. Indeed so many brothers AND sisters helping out 'voluntarily' is a blessing for us and Allah has commanded us to rejoice well the favours He has bestowed upon us. the Juloos is a happy and joyous event, let us strive to keep it that way. In my humble opinion, it is one thing to offer an opinion but to be slightly pompous about it, I believe, is morally incorrect. Although the Sahaabah are the BEST of examples for us, they too were not perfect as the only perfect entity after Allah is His beloved {peace and blessings be upon him and his family}.

Let us all strive to love one another and live in peace and harmony. Let us try to further the mission of our great Muffakir-e-Islam {may Allah grant him a long, beautiful and enriched life}.
