A-o-a,

I saw a poster of Milad-un-Nabi in Walthamstow. I got confused to see one thing that the person under whose supervision this is going to be held (Peer Abdul-Qadir Sahib), had a phrase "Nawaasa-e-Rasool" before his name. Can you please tell me if it's OK to add this before his name, even if he is from the same family? I'm really baffled. Because, there is no concept of Milad-un-Nabi in Islam and the thing which doesn't exist in Islam is being supervised by "Nawaasa-e-Rasool"? I am be completely wrong that's why I have posted this to get to know the real situation.

Regards.

Salam Fahad,

Thanks for posting today alhamdulilah we are all here to learn. Firstly writing nawasa e rasool can only be written by someone in their family. As Pir Syed Abdul qadir Jilani are from lineage of the beloved Holy prophet Muhammad (SAW) they can be called Nawasa e rasool. There is no harm in mentioning the Nasab. I am from a particular family surely I will not refer to another family. Surely Muhammed SAW is the grandfather of Pir Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani even though there are over 33 generations but still a grandfather. As to milad sharif being permissable pls go to the video section and see Pir Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani video and Pir Syed Mazhar Hussain Shah Saab video to see the permissability of celebrating milad.

Salaam brother Fahad,

There is also an array of rich information available within the forums under Islamic events. Topics within discuss the permissibility of doing Milad un Nabi.

It is the duty of Muslims to love and respect the Family of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) because the Holy Prophet has said in a hadith, “When I am loved, then my family members, whom I love should also be loved.” (Tirmidhi)
